Maine Tree Company Helping States Hit By Sandy
by Peter InterlandLucas Tree Experts based in Falmouth has over 450 tree workers assisting 10 utilities in restoring power to the states hit hard by Superstorm Sandy. Mobilized from as far away as South Carolina, Lucas Tree crews are operating in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. These crews join the hundreds of local Lucas employees already located in these states.
Hampered by difficulty in area travel, fueling and restoration efforts, Lucas Tree is doing everything it can to ensure the safety of their employees. the company's safety trainers and supervisors are conducting daily safety briefings to remind their crews of the potential hazards caused by downed power lines, flooding and broken trees.
Members of Lucas Storm Management Team began preparing for the storm well before it hit. They will continue to remain in the affected areas to fulfill additional requests for crews and support the logistics of moving crews to impacted areas in the Northeast.
